Organizations and trials

Switch between organizations, rename one, transfer ownership, and understand what happens when a demo organization expires.

View as Markdown

An organization owns its members and every workflow, dashboard, and record created inside it. Its data lives in its own isolated database schema, which is the boundary the platform enforces at the storage layer rather than in application code.

Belonging to more than one

You can belong to several organizations. The switcher at the top-left of the app, showing your organization's initial and name, moves you between them, and your choice is remembered for next time.

The organization you are working in comes from that choice — not from the address you visited — so there is no URL to memorize or share.

Settings

Settings → Organization shows the organization's name, its plan, and when it was created. It is also where the entitlements table lives, so it is the page to check when something has been refused for a limit.

Owners and admins can rename it from Edit. The rename is cosmetic: nothing about your integrations or URLs depends on the name.

Transferring ownership

Owners get one more control on that page: Transfer ownership, which hands the owner role to another active member and leaves you as an admin.

There is exactly one owner per organization, and this is the only way to move it. The user editor will not change an owner's role.

Plan limits

Your plan caps how much of each thing an organization can hold — active workflows, connectors, data models, service accounts, seats, records, storage, and how long run history is kept.

A refusal always names the limit and what is in use — Data models limit reached (10 of 10 in use). Contact support@hodoflow.com to raise your plan's limits. — and it is never a problem with what you typed. The same request would succeed under a larger plan.

Current usage is on Settings → Organization.

Demo organizations

Signing up creates a demo organization that lasts seven days. It is a real organization with nothing withheld, and each account gets one — if you have already used yours, signing up again will not create another.

On the final day, a banner appears across the top of the app: Last day of your trial, with the exact time access ends and a Move to production button that opens a message to the Hodoflow team.

When the seven days run out, the organization is deactivated, not deleted. Your data is still there, and reaching out can get the demo switched back on or moved to a production organization. Only after a further grace period — around a month from signup, if nothing changes — is a deactivated demo organization and its data permanently purged.

Production organizations do not expire.

Common problems

I signed up again and did not get a second demo. One demo per account, by design. Ask about a production organization instead.

My demo expired and I cannot sign in to it. The organization is deactivated, not deleted. Contact the Hodoflow team; the data is still there until the purge window closes.

I am the owner and I am leaving. Use Transfer ownership before your access is deactivated. An organization with a deactivated owner and no transfer needs support to sort out.

Everything is refused with a limit message. Check Settings → Organization for which limit, then either free some of it up or contact support to raise it.

Next step

Invite people and set roles.
